SUNDAY SMÖRGÅSBORD


At Madsen we serve the Smörgåsbord on special occasions such as Christmas, Easter and when we feel the time is right. SAMPLE MENU
Smörgåsbord is Swedish for a buffet with traditional warm and cold dishes; in Danish we say Det Kolde Bord. Whatever you like to call it, it’s great for a get-together with family and friends

The buffet comes with plenty of freshly baked rye bread, sourdough bread and crispbread.

3 kinds of marinated herring
served with homemade curry salad

Smoked salmon
served with dill mayonnaise

Skagenröra
a creamy prawn salad with horseradish and dill

Vegetable gratin (V)

Fried filet of plaice
served with house remoulade and lemon wedges

Pork Belly
served with homemade red cabbage

‘Hakkebøf med bløde løg’
Danish style beef burger with fried onions

Frikadeller
meatballs served with potato salad

“Æggekage med tomat og purløg” (V)
a traditional omelet with tomatoes and chives

Mixed leaves salad (V)

“Kladdkaka med vispgrädde”
A heavy Swedish chocolate cake with whipped cream

Marinated fruits with “råcreme”/vanilla sauce

Cheese board with grapes

£25 per person/£12.50 for children under the age of 12
