Scandinavian Christmas Buffet 2010
from November 21 to December 22, 2010

The Madsen Christmas buffet is available for Sunday lunches on November 21 and 28. In December the buffet is served for Saturday lunch and dinner, and Sunday lunch up until December 22, 2010. For groups of 8 people or more, we can serve the buffet during the week however, this must be booked min. 48 hours in advance.
We have a private dining room that seats 10 people.

A vegetarian menu is available if advised in advance

Christmas Buffet menu - £29.50 per person:
Our buffet is served with freshly baked dark rye bread, sourdough bread and crisp bread

Three kinds of marinated herring

Pan-fried herring in mandarin marinade

Smoked salmon and chive roll
served with prawns and lemon

“Skagenröra” – Swedish prawn salad in tartlets

Mixed leaves with baked Jerusalem artichoke
and sweet vinegar dressing

Breaded fillet of plaice
with house remoulade and lemon wedges

“Janssons Frestelse”
a Swedish creamy potato and anchovy gratin

Pork loin with crackling
and traditional caramelised potatoes

Swedish glazed Christmas ham
served with kale cabbage

Frikadeller
Danish pork meat balls with homemade red cabbage

Chef’s pork liver pâté
topped with crispy bacon and mushrooms

Selection of sliced meats
served with aspic and traditional pickle

Brie cheese with grapes

Ris à l’amande with warm cherry sauce
